The 2010 Chevy Camaro finally reaches showrooms across America, and the demand for the new musclecar has been high! We've spotted them on the streets, and really like the look. It's one of those car designs that's best appreciated in person. News reports are currently saying that GM is adding shifts and keeping plants open longer to accomodate for the large demand for new Camaros, which is great news for the Chevrolet brand.

Team D'Agostino / Scavo brough out the twin-turbo Camaro to a testing session recently in Bowling Green, KY. The goal was to work out some electrical issues they were fighting at the end of last year's racing season, and the team is making some serious progress. In this short video, the car makes a 1000-foot pass at around 7 seconds. Be sure to check out the hula doll in the rear window, and it's fun to watch the tower dissappear out the rear window... these things can get a little squirly! The Camaro has since gone 6.92 at over 208 in the quarter... still in testing. Watch the hula doll!

In this video, we install a new set of doorskins on our 1965 Chevelle. These new, rust-free, arrow-straight skins came from OPGI, and when installed properly, are a quick and relatively easy way to renew an old set of doors. We prepped our inner structure by treating it to a complete sandblasting and a bath in PPG DP90 epoxy primer. We then did a little work to the skin to get it ready, then we used a 3M Automix doorskin adhesive to bond the skin to the inner structure. The trickiest part is working the new doorskin over the inner structure, but we used a cool tool from Dent Fix to power the flange over smoothly and quickly.

It seems the automakers think it's time to start selling wagons again! Unfortunately, we'll never see the return of the big-block cruisers like the one in the beginning of this video, but maybe a CTS-V wagon would be cool!

Our 1969 Pontiac Firebird project "Routy" is going through the early phases of its transformation, with many small detail items being checked off the list as we go. In this installment, we fix rusty bodymounts and straighten some slightly damaged supports on the subframe. Then we're repairing rust holes in the radiator core support, inner fenders, and small holes in the body. We uncovered a patch in the fender we didn't like, so we replaced it with new steel using some cool butt-welding panel clamps from Eastwood. A quick spray with Standox SprayMAX 2K Epoxy Primer keeps the part protected until the bodywork phase. This stuff is cool.. it's a Standox 2k epoxy primer in an aerosol can.
That means it's got a primer and a catalyst in one container... you
break the seal on the can, and the two components mix inside the can.
You have to spray it out within about 1 week or it will harden in the
can. It's really tough stuff that sprays great over little repair
areas like this where you don't want to mix a whole gun full of
material. The firewall was welded up in anticipation of a Vintage Air air conditioning unit. The subframe and front sheetmetal parts were sprayed with Eastwood Epoxy Primer and Extreme Ceramic Chassis Black paint for long lasting protection and a factory-like satin appearance. Finally, we installed some Global West Del-A-Lum bushings in the front suspension pieces. Next phase... floor and trunk floor repairs! Click Read More for video!

This awesome 1965 Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe CSX2601 is THE car that beat Ferrari with Bob Bondurant behind the wheel, and now it's going to cross the Mecum auction block. The 1965 Shelby Daytona Cobra was one of six cars built by Carroll Shelby to compete against the dominating Ferrari in the F.I.A. (Federation Internationale de l’Automobile) World Manufacturers Championship for GT race class. An experimental coupe body designed by Pete Brock was built on an existing Cobra chassis, immediately increasing the top speed by 25 mph. That car won its first race, the 1964 Daytona Continental (prompting Shelby to adopt the name), and five more coupes were built, including CSX2601. In this interview, driver Bob Bondurant and designer Peter Brock tell the story of this legendary racecar.

Nick Scavo and Jeff D'Agostino recently acquired the 1991 Chevrolet Camaro race car originally started by Scavo, then completed by Chuck Samuel and the crew at Chassis Engineering. Confused? Seeing that Nick has been behind the wheel of 3 different race cars in the past 3 years, it's not an easy story to follow. We took this opportunity to launch V8TV Web Radio to sort out the details, and in this video, Nick takes us through the car... a twin turbo Outlaw 10.5 race car headed for the mid 6-second quarter mile range at well over 200 miles per hour.

The crew at Time Machines are hard at work making Mopar Muscle avaliable to the masses. The latest projects include several new offerings from the Mr. Norm's Garage line as well as some Modern Muscle cars, like the new Demon project and 'Cuda conversions. These cars offer Mopar fans the chance to have their vintage car tuned-up with new technology, or an opportunity to own a 2010 'Cuda.. something not even offered by Chrysler themselves!

Our 1965 Chevelle had some pretty nice doors, but they were hiding some rust pinholes that we knew would be problematic later. The last thing we wanted was to finish this car and have it start bubbling with rust spots, so we elected to do the right thing and replace the door skins. This allowed us to not only have fresh, crisp, new OPGI skins, but also to sandblast and epoxy paint the inner structures to make sure they didn't rust again. In this installment, we show the tricks to proper doorskin removal. The next chapter will show the install procedure.

Someone asked us about the possibility of swapping in a new GM SUV Hybrid powertrain into an American Musclecar. We were very intrigued with the idea of making decent power, getting awesome fuel economy, and having a "green" car no matter what the color. As a research project, we borrowed a new Cadillac Escalade Hybrid SUV to see how the system drove, and to learn about the packaging. Watch the video to see our conclusions.
