Quarter panels are one of the most rust and dent-prone parts of
musclecars, and our 1965 Chevelle had some of each. Mostly dents.
Thankfully, OPGI came out with new reproduction full quarter panels
for 1965 Chevelles. In this video, we show you how to remove your old
panel and install the new. Also applies to other GM A Bodies like
Skylarks, Cutlasses, GTOs and others.

Mopar fans have another reason to get excited... the Mr. Norm's brand of high-performance cars is back! Through a partnership with Time Machines, Inc., the legendary Mr. Norm's Supercars live on. The Time Machines crew started with a 2008 Dodge Challenger and up fitted it with special Mr. Norm's striping, a Corsa exhaust, Afco headers and coil-over suspension, custom 20" wheels, interior branding, and capped it off with a 400 rear-wheel horsepower Diablosport tune. But that's just the beginning... the Mr. Norm's Garage line continues into a whole line of bolt-on suspension parts for Mopar musclecars like this 1970 Dodge Challenger, a traditional and late model Hemi engine program, custom EFI systems, and much more. And if you want the top of the line, check out the Mr. Norm's Garage Supercar line, illustrated with this 1970 Cuda convertible with a 6.1 Hemi, EFI, 727 Trans with Gear Vendor Overdrive , full Art Morrison chassis , custom leather interior, and much more. It's a good time to be a Mopar fan!
Now reedited with Mr. Norm & Bill Mitchell Interviews!

Our '65 Chevelle drove in on a low-performance 350 cubic inch Chevy replacement engine that was reported to have less than 10,000 miles on it. Initially, we contemplated doing a late-model EFI swap on this car, but then we thought we'd take a look at what we had and see what kind of shape it was in. Turns out that the 350 is a parts-store type replacement engine with 4-bolt mains and a very clean bottom end. The cast iron heads and cam were not very exciting, so we used the Dynomation engine simulation software to whip up a new recipe. In this installment, we clean up the engine, repaint the short block, and install a new Comp Cams Xtreme Energy cam, lifters, timing set, new Holley performance aluminum cylinder heads, a Weiand Action Plus intake manifold, an MSD Pro-Billet distributor, some Flowtech headers, and a Holley 670 Street Avenger carb. Some of the parts we already had like the MSD unit, the intake, and the carb, but the cam and heads are new. Here's how it went.

We like to spray a test panel before painting the entire car. This way, we can see how the color reacts in different light and how the light affects the body lines and contours of the car. Our 1965 Chevelle is going to be painted in a factory BMW M series color called Estoril Blue, and we're really excited to see how it comes out. This video shows the test panel we sprayed with DuPont paint as well as a mini-review of the new Eastwood Concours HVLP spray gun. The Concours gun offers high-end features but doesn't cost more than the car did. We liked it. Click "read more" for large images of this color in the sun!

There are those who think the 2006 Ford GT is fast enough from the factory. Of course, we're firm believers in maximizing performance, so we visited our buddies at GRC Performance while they installed an upgraded supercharger pulley, exhaust, and air filters to this modern supercar. The power gains are remarkable, and the car retains it's modern drivability.
This is a 2 part video, so be sure to watch after the Royal Purple break for the dyno results!

If you're going to sell parts and claim they perform, you better be able to demonstrate their performance in public. That's the philosophy of the crew at Air Ride Technologies... they build cars showcasing their parts, then thrash the daylights out of them in public autocross events around the country. We spent some time with Bret Voelkel to learn about the latest Air Ride cars - SuperNova and Velocity.

Tommy Parker's 1973 Camaro Z28 is a great example of how to build a clean car with smart parts to end up with a strong performer with razor-sharp looks. Tommy used a GM Crate motor, Baer brakes, and some trick suspension goodies to start with, then added a new Twist Machine Pro Torque torque converter which creates a manual transmission feel with an auto. Watch the video to see how.

Herbert Lumpp's clean 1966 Chevrolet El Camino is set up with a well thought-out selection of suspension pieces and drivetrain parts to make it a competant road-course and street machine. Powered by a big block Chevy engine, it's backed by a 5-speed manual TKO 600 trans spinning a Currie rear axle and rides on a complete Global West suspension system. We shot the car going around the cones and down the drag strip at the recent Run Through The Hills IV event in Pigeon Forge, TN. Check out the suspension camera!

Andrew Borodin's 1970 Pontiac GTO has been around the block a few times, and keeps picking up new tricks at every turn. This time, Andrew ditched the previous mill - a Big Block Chevy - in exchange for a new-tech, lightweight, all aluminum GM L92 6.2 liter V8. The GTO rolls on a trick - but simple - suspension that sticks in the turns and features Corvette brakes. After adding a few goodies like Corvette accessories and intake manifold, he jammed in an LS7 camshaft and now the Goat runs 12's, goes around corners like crazy, and still racks up 23 MPG. Watch the video to learn how.. and to see it on the drag strip and the autocross!
