We're getting ready to take our 1962 Ford Galaxie 500XL convertible on a road trip across the USA, and you can come with us! Well, sorta. We'll be posting videos from the road several times per day, and if the technology works right, we may be able to have a live map drop pins online. Here's a quick video, and you can post comments in the Forum Thread on the trip!
Bodyman Nathan Newberry is in the process of jazzing-up an old Ford steering wheel we had in the parts pile using some 3M 4240 Plastic Repair to fill the cracks, and then it will be sanded and painted in the next video.
This has been a good summer - we've actually had time to drive our 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 XL convertible around quite a bit. Now, we're possibly taking a multi-state road trip with the car, and it's time do to some maintenance on a Friday night. Little things like Royal Purple fluid changes, installing a better Spal fan control switch, fixing the e-brake... you get the idea. Kelle and Kevin are working on it.
The 1966 GTO was finally ready to hit the road. We bled the Wilwood brakes, had all the fluids topped off, the ride hieght set, and it was time to take to the streets. Our goal was to build a car that handled flat in the corners, made lots of power, and was comfortable to drive, and the '66 GTO scored in all departments. Check it out!
Abrasive blasting is one of the best ways to remove rust, paint, and other unwanted surfaces from parts and panels. Eastwood just came out with a new 2-tank blaster that allows you to switch between an aggressive media and a less abrasive bicarbonate soda media on the fly! We tested it, now we use it all the time.
In this quick update, poor Nathan has been working his arms to the nubs sanding the Standox Sprayable Polyester on Routy. The stuff sands easy, but it is a
lot of work regardless. Here, Kelle takes a walk around the car to
see the progress.
Here's a quick update on the 1965 Chevelle project.. the body has been blocked and we're in primer! We've also shot the bottom of the hood in DuPont's Hot Hues Hot Rod Black for a durable, satin paint finish. We really like the stuff!
