V8TV teams up with Royal Purple Synthetic Oil to build a real-world 1969 Camaro convertable.

Beginning with a stock 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible, the on-screen crew at V8TV will transform the car into an updated street performer, while keeping the Original envelope intact.

Utilizing a YearOne Power Crate Engine for power and a 5-speed manual overdrive transmission, the Royal-Sport will be built to drive. Tubular suspension components and large 4-wheel disc brakes contribute to modern ride, handling and increased road feel while the overdrive transmission adds to fuel economy. Helping in the power and economy departments will be a complete array of Royal Purple Synthetic fluids, ranging from engine oil, transmission fluid, differential lube, to synthetic power steering fluid and cooling system additives.

Outside, the Royal-Sport Camaro remains fairly stock with a custom color scheme. Considering the present market value of these musclecars, it was important to perform modifications that could easily be returned back to stock should the owner someday decide to do so.

V8TV will cover the entire transformation of the Royal-Sport Camaro car beginning with the acquisition, mechanical upgrades, engine build, vehicle teardown, paint and bodywork, interior restoration, reassembly, and final tuning. Each of these areas will receive substantial coverage on V8TV in a manner that provides the specific details so that viewers are inspired to build their own dream car. In addition, products and procedures used on the Royal-Sport will be featured in detail on V8TV as well as on the V8TVShow.com website. Website features live on V8TV permanently so viewers can refer to them anytime in the future to find more information on the parts and sources used during the build of this car.

Once completed, the Royal-Sport Camaro will be handed off to Royal Purple synthetic oil for use as a promotional vehicle in their display booths including the SEMA show and at events for the following 2 years. A stand-alone DVD of the entire process will be available for retail sale when the car is completed.

A main goal of the Royal-Sport Camaro is that an average enthusiast must be able to replicate it in their home garage using readily available parts at a realistic budget level. The components are chosen for their reliability and usability over flash, and the use of Royal Purple synthetic fluids ensures long life and economy.
