 We've all had the desire to Cruise around in cars that look '60's cool but perform like the best of today's high-tech muscle cars. Truth be told, many of the modifications gearheads make are to catch up with the engineers at the automakers. Features like fuel injection, better brakes, overdrive transmissions and additional handling capabilities are now commonplace additions on personalized musclecars. But the Julian brothers wanted more. They wanted a 1965 Mustang Fastback to perform exactly... if not better... than a 2003 Mustang Cobra.
{flv}V821Seg4{flv} Now this is not a simple task, especially when you consider the intangibles offered by the new car. The chassis, for example, has a far more rigid design and execution than the '65 thanks to improved welding and design techniques. The suspension system is designed into the car, making it perform more organically than retrofitting one design to the next. The Julians certainly had to decide how to achieve their goals, and they chose a method that would scare most builders off in a heartbeat.Bob and Wayne Julian successfully mated the top half of a 1965 Mustang Fastback with the bottom of a 2003 Cobra. The suspension, floor, and entire supercharged drive train are Cobra, and the outer sheet metal, doors, and roofline are 1965 Mustang. The amazing merger has been executed in a manner that rivals a factory build... this car looks like it came this way. We shot the car before its completion, but we couldn't wait to show this amazing machine.
