2009 SEMA Muscle Car Road Trip

On our way out to the SEMA show in Las Vegas, we bumped into some good friends of ours who are putting a new twist on "delivering" their "show cars" to SEMA.  These guys all have very clean pro touring muscle cars that are going to be not only on display at the SEMA show, but they are also participating in the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational event.  after SEMA.  But what is even more impressive, is that they are driving their cars across the United States to the event. 
We caught up with them in Oklahoma City after they had been driving through pouring rain and mud slides all day!
As Bill Howell said "its a car, its meant to be driven."

The cars include Bill's 72 Charger, Brian's 71 Camaro, Albert's 70 Firebird, and the Keisler Kuda.

Check out Albert's 70 Pontiac.  Its a super clean car, with a mud slide under the hood.

That is soooooooooooo cooooooooooooool seeing those guys drive their cars to SEMA. Anybody wanna buy my plane tickets so I can drive my 79 Trans Am out there?

Wow! I cant believe some of the stuff I am seeing here with these "show" cars........
Dumping in "octane boost" that you don't need, and washing your car in a coin was, with the brush wand.
I wish I had that kind of $$$$$$$$

OK, this is where Kelle and I had to peel off for the night, but the rest of the crew has to be in Vegas by noon or so, so they kept on.   We don't get our room until Sunday, so this is the end of our cruise with the guys, but we'll post more from the road soon!

We finally made it to Vegas after a brief detour at the Grand Canyon.    It's an awesome diversion, I recommend everyone to take a trip there.    You'd be amazed at all the different people on hand from around the world who made the trip to see it, and it's in our backyard and many Americans never take the trip.

Great videos Kevin, we had a ball coming across country and hooking up with you and Kelle. All the cars did great, no real issues. Now if we can just keep them together for the Optima Challenge we will be golden. BTW, go by and check out the stickers on the cars you designed on the napkin.....look good.

Oh, and don't worry about the brush and paint job on my car, it is driver quality, not show quality and I would rather wash it with a brush now and then than have the caked on mud we washed off that day.
Believe me, with the 91 octane out west, Albert's 463 needed that additive. Helps with the detonation.
