Is it a truck or not if you never haul  anything in the back of it? I believe the soul of every truck needs to haul something...even if its just a box of furnace filters from the home depot 1 time a year

I think not, Gas   In fact, Kelle hauls so much crap in our daily driver CAR that we call it a truck, too!     That's part of the reason why she's building the '54 Chevy, to get the plants, duck food, and car parts out of the car!

do you think the car now resents the truck because farmgirl is spending so much time with it? I hope so because I don't like cars anyway

I think the car is going to be relieved she's not trucking with it anymore!    And I bet the truck is going to be pretty happy initially to get some attention, but it may not like being put back in service... it's been retired for quite some time!

yeah sounds just like a car to wuss out....you get that truck drivable and it will do the rest....its prime directive is to work...it was born in a time when trucks didn't have identity problems like they do now...

I hear you on the identity issues.    The car's got 233k on it, so it likes to work also, but things like that belong in the truck.     I'm sure Kelle's going to have that thing loaded with stuff every day.    If they like to work, this will be one happy truck!

I like 'em all.    I really dig old trucks, too, just haven't had much experience with 'em.   Kelle's '54 and the '49 Chevy are the first projects I've been around.

well if I must admit I have owned a few cars myself but I would have to do a serous search of the old memory banks to remember a time when I didn't own a truck...the kind you can throw stuff in the back of...

I'm a city kid... now we're in Rural America, and it's a different story.      Kelle's had lots of trucks.

Gas,
I'm finally back from the shop.  I couldn't get any internet service out there all day today so sorry to not be responding till now.
Kevin and you did a good job on the forum today, thanks for spending so much time here today.  It looks like you and Kevin had a good time communicating here today.  I think Kevin is more excited about me getting the truck going than the daily driven car or the 54 truck.  He gets real nervous when I go to the local farm store and load the trunk of the car with rabbit food, duck food, dog and cat food, car parts and even wood for our fireplace in the trunk.
I was really hoping to be near completion of my truck by now but I let our bodyman get near it and he discovered my fenders were barely hanging on and my floor wasn't very stable so I'm stalled on getting my brakes put back together and my transmission swapped cause the bodyman is knocking all the rust and dirt out from under the truck.  Just to dangerous for me to get in the middle of his "fixing".

I keep posting updates on stovebolt and here so stay tuned to the fun.

Thanks for being so welcoming at stovebolt too.

yep farmgirl KO is ok I guess for a CAR guy  Grin...its probably not a bad idea gettin' them holes fixed seein' as how cold it is outside at the moment..
.I'm tryin' to get some of my truck buddies from the bolt to sign up so we aint the only truckers in the place...just the nice ones though..they'll really like that you can put videos right in the post...they keep it pretty basic over at the bolt for dial-uppers...
have a good day and stay warm out there in the shop
