Steve Strope and the Pure Vision crew are working day and night to complete this very cool 1972 Ford Torino GT. We've known Steve Strope for a long time, and although we would love to have cameras rolling on him 24/7, our budget doesn't allow for it. But we do have a cheap phone line, so we're going to be checking in with Steve from time to time tracking the progress of the Torino project. We'll record the interviews and post them here. Then, we'll feature the completed car at SEMA.
This audio interview is over 1 hour long.
Steve's working on a killer 1972 Ford Torino GT for the SEMA show. Here's the rendering:

Here's the press release from Pure Vision:
Dan Widmann’s 1972 Ford TorinoThis show stopping Torino is currently under construction at So. Cal’s favorite muscle car shop, Pure Vision. From its brilliant PPG Indigo Ink Blue Pearl, to its Mustang inspired Wimbledon White stripes, this one screams FORD!
Cleverly mixing traditional elements with modern flare is Pure Vision’s calling card, and this one is no exception!
Engine: We took a Ford Racing Performance Parts crate 514 and outfitted it with a modern serpentine pulley system from Billet Specialties. Then we crowned the big block with the vintage competition look of dual quads. A custom Ron Davis radiator keeps it cool
Trans: Ford’s heavy duty Top Loader 4-speed is mated to a new Gear Vendors unit. A perfect blend of old and new, giving us strength and versatility in an 8-speed package.
Suspension: Set at 4” ground clearance with full travel
Front- Stock upper A-arms. Fatman Fabrication 2” dropped spindles. Lower control arms modified for coil-over shocks.
Rear-A modified Art Morrison triangulated 4-link rear clip with a 9” rear axle hung with coil overs. Randy’s Ring and Pinion stuffed one of their nodular 3rd members with a 31 spline true track posi unit and 3:75 gears
Rims/Tires: For rolling stock Bonspeed has created their own 19-and 20-inch, interpretation of the Shelby Cobra rim appropriately named “Big Block”. These rims will be shod with awesome Pirelli PZERO Rosso tires
Brakes: Wilwood 14” front and rear
Paint & Body: Crisp lines and flawless execution by Gold Coast Custom Inc.
Interior: Modern refinement of the classic Torino GT interior is what we have in mind. Eric Thorsen Custom Upholstery and the boys over at Just Dashes will be combining their talents with a mix of medium grey leathers and restored vinyl pieces. Redline Gauge Works will give the stock gauges modern movement, plus custom colors and fonts for the faces. Of course there will be Vintage Air to keep Dan comfy.
Check back often for updates on this car, and feel free to post comments or questions for Steve, and we'll ask him in the next interview!
