CLEANTOOLS LEGEND CUP RETURNS TO CARQUEST WORLD OF WHEELS IN CHICAGO JANUARY 23-25, 2009

Chicago, IL (January 15, 2009)— CleanTools is proud to announce the return of “the best of the best” in overall vehicle design awards, the CleanTools Legend Cup. The CleanTools Legend Cup will take place once again during the CARQUEST World of Wheels custom car show in Chicago, Jan. 23-25, 2009.

Over the course of the three-day event the Legend Cup will slowly narrow the competition to find “the best of the best.” The Top 20 entries will be announced on Friday, Jan. 23. Then on Saturday, Jan. 24 those will be pared down to a select group of six finalists. The big winner will be unveiled on Sunday, Jan. 25.

Organizers for this year's Chicago World of Wheels elevated the bar by assembling an elite advisory board to oversee competition. The board consists of eight of the custom car building industry's most prominent leaders, who used a progressive approach to attract the highest level of competition consisting of almost 100 hand-selected, nationally recognized, top cars from across the country.

"The Legend Cup is the first major national award for great design open to all makes and models,” Bill Stuart, owner of CleanTools, the maker of The Absorber, said.

Award sponsor CleanTools was a logical choice to present the top accolade, a stunning perennial trophy that stands over five feet tall, along with a $5,000 cash prize that honors “the best of the best.”

"CleanTools has always been an enthusiast for all things automotive," Stuart said. "Our car-care products grew out of our great appreciation for the best cars built by the best car builders in the country. So it was only natural that we wanted to present an award to ‘the best of the best’ at the Chicago World of Wheels."

The removable cup that sits atop the base, along with a $5,000 cash prize, is presented to the winner, and the winner's name is added to the base of the trophy. Entries are judged according to International Show Car Association (ISCA) rules and by the following criteria: style and design, workmanship, degree of difficulty, engineering, presentation, theme, and detail.
