This is the first video in the series where the V8TV crew rebuilds a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro from a stock-type restoration into a Zl-1 inspired fire-breathing supercharged Pro-Touring machine. Plans for the build include a GM LSA Supercharged 6.2 liter V8 backed by a T-56 Magnum transmission from Modern Driveline. The car will roll on Detroit Speed & Engineering suspension, Forgeline Wheels, and Toyo R888 tires, stopped by hydroboosted Wilwood brake system. This video outlines the history, design, and direction of the project as envisioned by designer Dan Steinhauser. The bodywork process is a laborious one, and in this video, we show you the steps taken to refine the steel panels on the 1969 Camaro called "Lou's Change" using fillers from Evercoat including Quantum1.

Making panel gaps on classic cars fit like modern high-end vehicles takes some work.   In this video, we show you some tricks to make doors, quarter panels, fenders, deck lids, and other body panels fit with new-car precision.

The next step in the Lou's Change 1969 Camaro was to install all the wiring and plumbing for the cooling systems.     We used an American Autowire Classic Update harness, which allows us to tailor the length of the harness to our specific needs.     The dash will be filled with Dakota Digital VHX gauges, and we used the original glove box location to mount the electronics for the gauges.    We moved the fuse and power panel for the GM LSA crate engine to the original ashtray location for accessibility.     Under the hood, we installed a Detroit Speed 7-speed wiper motor, but moved the motor to a spot behind the driver fender to clean up the firewall.   Then we installed a C&R Racing radiator, complete with integral power steering and engine oil coolers.     We also added a C&R heat exchanger for the supercharger coolant, and an upgraded supercharger coolant pump.
